PHOTO OF THE MONTH: November 01One of the biggest concerns prospective homebuyers have when considering a home, is whether the basement has a water infiltration problem. The following photo shows an obvious attempt by a home seller to cover up a basement water situation by painting the floor and support columns with a thick coat of paint.Notice how much thinner the bottom of the support column is to the part above. Removal of the paint covering revealed extensive rusting. In addition to this basement having a serious water infiltration problem, the support columns have been seriously weakened. |
