One aspect of inspecting electrical systems during a home inspection deals with electrical panels. Home inspectors will usually open up most electrical panels and look for safety issues. Some types of older electrical equipment have known problems including the Federal Electric Pacific panel in the photo below. Federal Pacific Electric panels (FPE) that have stab-lock type circuit breakers have a host of safety issues including circuit breakers that fail / break at the panel bus bar connection.
