INSPECTION PHOTO OF THE MONTH - APRIL 07

Home inspectors are not required to find the cause of problems uncovered during a home inspection. Some home inspectors go above and beyond the call of duty. This recently installed basement wall at a RI home was damaged by water. The resourceful inspector reached in with his camera at a section where there was a hole in the sheetrock and used his camera as a periscope. After a few clicks of the camera, he found the source of water that caused the damage to the wall. There was a pipe with a spigot attached to the end of it that had been sheetrocked into the wall. It was left in the open position and when the house was de-winterized, the wall filled up with water.
