Fireplace Form Boards

This photo was taken at a mid 50's home in the hills of Bellaire CA (West Los Angeles). The wood shakes were used as "forms" for the custom built masonry chimney but were suppose to have been removed upon completion of the chimney. Most good home inspectors will look up inside fireplaces and report on fire hazards, such as this one.
